Why Australian Shepherds?
Through the many years that I have shared my life with Australian Shepherds, I have learned to appreciate all the joy that my Aussies bring to me each day. And, I am proud of the selected husbandry used to produce these quality performance animals.
But, whether it is owning the Top Dog in the breed (been there, done that), or watching dogs from my breedings compete and excel in Conformation, Agility, Obedience, Tracking, Herding, and Therapy work; the first and foremost importance for me is the joyous companionship that my Countrywoods Aussies bring to their new families.
If you have photos and/or stories to share about a Countrywoods Aussie, pass it along, and I'll be glad give you a "brag space" of your own , right here, on my website!

Thoughts...
My greatest achievements are not what most may think.
It's not having the Top Dog in the breed (been there, done that), breeding a Top-Ten Bitch, or having the first AKC Champion Bitch in the state. Nor, is it in producing show dog, after show dog.
It is just really a very simple thing, such as, a heart-felt "Thank You" from a newcomer that I was able to help. Or, the pure joy of seeing that new "puppy love" grow into a lifelong bond between dog and master.
It is receiving all those cards and letters, with updates and photos of the latest new trick, or amazing feat, that you and your pal have mastered. It is providing a "Lifelong-Four-Legged-Furry-Love" to someone who will cherish it always.
If I can give someone a fraction of the joy that my dogs have given me, that's my greatest satisfaction; which is remembered long after the ribbons have faded. Fond memories live forever.

A little Aussie, so soft and blue,
Oh sweet puppy, I love you.
I know you'll grow strong and true,
Your pedigree says so, thru and thru.
I saw you when you were brand new,
And right away I wanted you.
So, now you're here instead of there.
Headliner, Headliner, you're really going to go somewhere.
